Herbal supplements - Psylium huskThere are many herbal products that contains psyllium husk. This is a herbal supplement that can be bought online or in health food stores. The psyllium comes in the form of capsules or pills. Psyllium is a bulk forming laxative which contains a lot of fibers and mucilage. When the husk comes in contact with water it swells and that is when it develops its laxative quality which makes it an almost ideal component in colonic treatment and clensing. This stimulates the walls of the bowel which then contracts. As the psyllium works its way down, it works like a hard sponge. This is the cause of an emptying bowl.
Herbal supplements are effective when it comes to clean the short term bowel but not when it comes to clean the whole bowel. But it does remove much of the toxic waste. This kind of colonclenser does not contract oxidation but it does cause contraction. These products are rather expensive so if you want to accurately clean your colon, you want to use an oxygen based colon clenser. Psyllium is a fiber extracted from the husks of blond psylliumseeds (lat: plantago ovata). This group of fibers which are soluble are called mucilages. They retain water and form a thick-ish and jelly-ish substance. Another member of this family is guar gum, something that is an ingredient in many beans. Psyllium is used (much like guar gum) as a thickening agent in the food industry, it goes into many soups and lotions, creams and dressings. Water soluble fibers like the psyllium but also apple pectin and guar gum has been shown to have a positive effect on cholesterol levels. It is often used as (part of) treatment for digestive conditions like constipation, diarrhea or diverticulosis. It is also used in many (most) colon clenser products and programs and in the treatment of colon cancer. This is a very versatile product.
